Bicycles have hardly changed in the last 100 years - or so you would think. Did you know, for example, that velomobiles already existed at the beginning of the 20th century? Hence the name: Velomobile comes from the French word velo (bicycle) and mobil (in reference to the automobile).
Powered like a bicycle, but weather-protected like a car - these are the main characteristics of a velomobile.
Due to its exceptionally good aerodynamics, a modern velomobile is at least equal to a very good racing bike, but depending on the model, it can be even better.
Thereby, the maintenance of such a velomobile is limited to a few drops of oil and bike tyre changes.
